We cut backstage following the opening of the show, where Devyn Mitchell stands by in the interview area with a microphone in hand.
Devyn Mitchell: “Ladies and gentlemen, my guest at this time…Darkhorse Champion, Jessi Ozborne.”
Right on cue, Jessi Ozborne enters the frame next to Devyn, the XIX Darkhorse Championship slung over her shoulder.
Devyn Mitchell: “Jessi, you requested this time with me tonight before your match. What’s on your mind?”
Jessi Ozborne: “Devyn, I’m gonna be real with you. The past few weeks or so…haven't been the best. I started 2023 becoming the inaugural World Champion of another company. Was stacking W after W in the squared circle. Then, almost out of nowhere, that company I was World Champion in shuts down. Went from a winning streak, to taking losses in a row.”
Jessi shakes her head before continuing.
Jessi Ozborne: “But I didn’t let it keep me down for long. I kept my head somewhat high because I had a huge opportunity on the horizon. I’ll spare people the details, as it’s not important to what goes on around here in XIX. If you know, you know. What is important to XIX however, is what happened when I finally got that huge opportunity, and what happened when it was taken from me, was the last straw.”
Jessi pulls the Darkhorse Championship off of her shoulder, giving it a good look before continuing.
Jessi Ozborne: “Listen, I love this Darkhorse Championship. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t feel like trading up would be disrespectful to it. But the fact of the matter is, I’m tired of getting shots called on me. Tired of being the one who works hard only to get screwed over. It’s time that I start being the one to call the shots, and it just so happens that I’m just in the position to do so.”
Jessi faces directly down the camera. Holding the Darkhorse Championship up to fit in frame as well.
Jessi Ozborne: “So this is me, calling my shot. Next month, I’m cashing in my opportunity for the XIX World Championship.”
A loud roar from the crowd echoes into the halls, with everyone on board with Jessi’s decision.
Jessi Ozborne: “So Trinity Thompson…I know you’re probably watching from home, thinking that you’re ready for the challenge that’s coming for you soon. I want you to keep watching, because in the main event tonight, I’m gonna show you why you couldn’t be more wrong. I’m taking the World Championship, and putting it on the map where it belongs. That’s not a threat, that’s a promise. And when The Queen promises? The Queen delivers. You’re. FUCKING! Welcome.”
Jessi walks off, leaving Devyn to round things off.
Devyn Mitchell: “You heard it here first, folks! In the main event of the next XIX show, Jessi Ozborne will be challenging Trinity Thompson for the XIX Wrestling World Championship!”
